Greensboro ABC Community Grants
Greensboro ABC offers annual grants benefitting community programs dedicated to education, prevention, treatment and/or research of alcohol and/or substance abuse.
Alcohol Education Grant Program
Since 1952,
The City of Greensboro ABC Board has donated a portion of profits back to the community to fund substance abuse education, prevention, treatment, and research.
7%
of all Greensboro ABC profits must be donated to qualifying 501(c)(3) organizations, per state law.
In 2024,
the Greensboro ABC Board looked to broaden the scope of giving to reach more nonprofits doing innovative and meaningful work in the community by developing its own grant-making program.
There is considerable value in partnering with these nonprofit organizations who are committed to preventing or reducing alcohol and/or substance abuse in our community.
By state law, once funds are allocated to operate the system, the ABC Board must return at least seven percent (7%) of profits from the sale of distilled spirits to qualified nonprofit, tax-exempt, charitable organizations which are exempt under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code or to governmental entities such as the State of North Carolina and its agencies, municipal corporations, and political subdivisions of the State that provide substance abuse prevention, education, treatment, and/or research for the benefit of Guilford County citizens.
2025 Grant Recipients
The City of Greensboro ABC Board is pleased to announce that in FY2025, it will distribute $176,715 in grants for substance abuse prevention, education, treatment, and/or research. The grant recipients are:
Alcohol and Drug Services of Guilford, Inc.
Granted $88,357.50
Alcohol and Drug Services (ADS) is a non-profit organization that helps to reduce the impact of substance abuse in our community through providing prevention and treatment services to individuals and families impacted by addictive disease. ADS has a commitment to excellence. It is our goal to provide the individuals and families we serve with compassion and support through offering the highest quality services.
Kellin Foundation
Granted $14,400.00
The Kellin Foundation’s mission is to strengthen resilience among children, families, adults and communities through trauma-informed behavioral health services focused on prevention, treatment, and healing.
Malachi House II
Granted $30,041.55
Malachi House II is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization operating with a staff who are committed to providing a safe and trusting environment where men can recover from life-controlling issues, such as drug and alcohol addiction.
Family Service of the Piedmont, Inc.
Granted $17,408.70
FSP is a non-profit, United Way member agency whose mission is to empower individuals and families to restore hope, achieve stability, and thrive through quality support services, advocacy, and education.
North Carolina A&T State University
Granted $26,507.25
The mission of the Alvin V. Blount, Jr. Student Health Center is to provide high-quality health care services and to confer health sustaining education and guidance to the students of North Carolina A&T State University.
